Special K 1Special K Treats are a classic.  I’d be really, REALLY surprised if you’d never had one before.

Kellogg’s developed Special K cereal in 1955, and from the beginning, it was geared more toward adults than children.  Especially calorie-counting adults who were looking for a little protein to start their day.

I doubt these yummy bars were part of their initial mission statement, but they’re sure a great variation from eating them with milk in a bowl .  I’ve made these while my daughters were growing up, and my mother made them for us before that.   Peanut butter, peanuts and protein-fortified cereal…hey, they sound healthy to me!

If you’ve never made them before, you’ll love how easy they are.
