Time is ticking.  As Christmas races ever closer, do you need a “little something” for a friend?  A co-worker (or two)?  A neighbor?  Are you running out of time to bake?  Or maybe you’re overdosed on cookie plates and are looking for something different that’s fast and easy, too?

Simmering Potpourri is my gift to you.

I have made these little bags for years now, and they are delightful.  You can use clear cellophane bags or cute printed ones.  Have fun with ribbons, bells, or small Christmas ornament balls to add a special touch. Inexpensive and fast to put together, the scent of cinnamon and cloves with a hint of citrus (you can use an orange or a lemon or both!)  combined with a handful of cranberries will waft through the kitchen and fill hearts with the holiday spirit.

I simmer my potpourri in one of those fun lunch-size crockpots, but a small saucepan on low heat is all you need.  Keep refilling with water as the hours and days go by.  It’s the “little something” that keeps on giving!
