Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar

Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar

Now that school has started, I have the best–and quick!– cookie bar recipe for you to put in those sack lunches.  Or for you to take to the potlucks that always seem to be so popular this time of year.  Or for you to keep just for yourself.

You’ll like them that much.

I worked in an emergency room for 17 years, and this recipe was given to me long ago by one of the nurses who left this world much too soon.  She was smart, patient and incredibly compassionate.  She was also a great cook, and even though she’s gone from us, her recipes will live on for a long time to come.

I’m happy to share these cookie bars because they’re so easy and good!  Easy because you use packaged cookie mixes, and the ingredients I’ve listed come right off the package.  Good because, well, who doesn’t love a chewy cookie bar?  And oatmeal, chocolate chips and walnuts are everyone’s favorite combination.

 Classic, delicious and easy-chewy-yummy good.
